This summer’s Midtown Fridays finale (August 29, 2025) brought pure Santa Cruz energy when Slow Gherkin took the stage (or the pavement) at the Event Santa Cruz Summer Block Party 2025. The legendary ska band lit up the crowd with their high energy set, horns blasting and the audience dancing from the start. On top of that, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Streetlight Records, making the night even more special for our local music community. It was the perfect celebration of community, music, and summer nights in Midtown—complete with the kind of joyful chaos that only Slow Gherkin can deliver.
