Amelia Nommensen is a choreographer, dance filmmaker, and performer who “combines dance, film, poetry, and song to create ocean-minded material for state and screen.” Currently based in San Francisco, Amelia holds a Bachelors of Science in Marine Biology and minor in Dance from UCSC. These passions come together in her artwork and this event will feature video and live performances throughout the night, including the preview for her upcoming evening length live performances: “Upwelling: the next iteration,” which incorporates an original sound score featuring Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute’s (MBARI) underwater recordings.
