My name is Charlie Funk and I am the owner of Funk’s Franks. I have fifteen years of experience in restaurants across the country from Michelin level to old holes in the wall. It has always been a dream of mine to start an establishment that sources quality products and has a positive impact on my town. Last year I started a Chicago Style hot dog stand in Santa Cruz California. In that time, we made so many friends and our “little cart that could” served thousands of hot dogs. We had an incredible year and built a wonderful following in an amazing community.
This year we’re taking our next big step by expanding our operations into a food truck. The truck will have an elevated menu bringing a variety of exciting new items in addition to the hot dogs. We will be sourcing quality products from the best local food purveyors and also work closely with local farms. My mission is to bring more excitement about food and service to Santa Cruz.
We’re so excited to show the people what we’ve been working on! We’re hoping to raise $8,000 to help cover our last leg of business expenses to get us over the finish line and start service in the next few weeks.
