Another amazing night for local music in Santa Cruz, well Felton if you want to be exact. On December 12, 2019 at 8pm Taylor Rae, Anthony Arya and Lindsey Wall took the stage at the fairly new Felton Music Hall (formerly – Flynn’s Cabaret and Steakhouse and Don Quixote’s International Music Hall). They played two hours of music with classic originals, popular covers and even played some brand new, never before heard songs.

They had the full crowed from the moment they walked on stage. The night started out with all three playing the cover by The Allman Brothers Band “Midnight Rider” then Taylor Rae and Anthony Arya left the stage so lindsey could play a solo set and she did not disappoint. There is something about Lindseys voice that makes you just want to hold on to each word. We wish we recorded more of her set in the video since it was such an amazing performance (we did get “Winter Lullaby” and “Wildflower”). You will just have to go see her soon at one of her upcoming shows. We also heard a rumor that a new album is in the works.

After Lindsey’s solo set, Taylor and Anthony came back, joined Lindsey and played the Bruce Springsteen classic – I’m On Fire. It was great seeing and hearing all three of them sing this song together since we have heard them in other combos sing the song in the past but never all together (see Taylor and Lindsey sing it here).

Then it was Taylor Rae’s turn to take the stage solo with classic originals such a Steel, Something Familiar, Liquify and newer songs like 5:25 and Sink or Swim. One of the stand out songs of the night that so many people were talking about after the show was a brand new song only written days before the show called “Fixer Upper”, a song written for Taylors boyfriend. It is definetly one of our favorite new songs by her. When watching a Taylor Rae show you can’t help but think that there is something special in her future. The raw tallent that she posseses along with her humility is inspiring.

Then it was Antony’s turn to go on solo. What an amazing musician. Like Taylor Rae mentioned earlier in the night ” If you have not heard Anthony Arya perfform you are in for a treat”. That was so true. At just 17 years old Anthony has talent beyond his years. He started off the set with a super catchy new song “California Air” then went into new songs and covers including the original song (one of our favorites) – Sarah, a hallarious version of “I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” and ended off the solo set with the cover of “Blues By Midnight”

To close out the night Taylor and Lindsey returned to the stage with Anthony to play “Lover, You Dont Treat Me No Good No More” by Sonia Dada and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” by The Rolling Stones.

Here is about an hour and fifteen minutes of the show (sorry we did not get the whole thing). ⬇︎
